2023 HardyStrong Memorial Scholarship Recipients
Alyssa Hughes

Alyssa graduated from St. Charles North High School in St. Charles, IL. During high school, Alyssa was an active leader serving as Student Body President, as well as in honors societies and St. Charles Youth Commission.

Alyssa was a starting point guard for four years on the St. Charles North Varsity Basketball Team. She set St. Charles North school records for season and career 3-pointers made and points in a season. She finished second in career scoring and was named to the IBCA All-State Third Team.

Alyssa will be attending Washington University in St. Louis and competing on the Women’s Basketball team. She intends to major in chemistry with the goal of pursuing her PhD in pharmacology in order to identify new therapeutics to fight disease.

Josh Evans

Josh graduated from St. Charles East High School in St. Charles, IL. During high school. Josh was involved in student council, peer leadership, physical education leadership, and honors societies, and working in the community.

Josh competed in Track and Field for four years. He set St. Charles East school records for the 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash, 55-meter dash, and 60-meter dash. He received All-Conference and All-Academic recognition in his junior and senior years.

Josh will be attending Cornell University and competing in Track and Field. He intends to major in Biology and Society in order to prepare for medical school.
